Anniversary Festivities for October Brides
As time goes by and another blissfully happy couple of friends decide to get hitched, I’m reminded of my own celebratory nuptials just last year. I’m also reminded of the wonderful whirlwind that is getting married, from the engagement, to the wedding – really all the way up to that very first Anniversary marker.
It’s the perfect time to reminisce. I think back on the thrills and excitement, the planning and Pinteresting (endless and yet exhilarating), the small family squabbles and the incredible toasts and speeches. We had ourselves a few laughs, a few tears, and a very pissed off sister in-law – thanks to an bold and brazen speech, fearlessly delivered by my brother in-law –
which was of course, classic.
These fixings are the key ingredients that combine to make a perfectly delicious, truly unforgettable day.
With the weather just starting to temper and the anticipatory buzz of the holidays brewing, I’ve found October to be a popular month for tying the knot. As my very own first anniversary awaits, I’ve started brainstorming ideas to appropriately celebrate and commence one year of merrily wedded-bliss. One of which (wearing my dress for the day, make-up free and hair undone) you see pictured above.
For all of my fellow October brides, here are a few things to do with your one and only – and though they may require minimal Pinteresting (admit it – you were looking for an excuse), there are no giant binders or “to-do” novels needed (ahem, I’m talking to you Hailey Barker).
Oh – and it’s not surprising that most of these festivities are centered around sharing food + drink, because after all, what else is love really ALL about?!!
